1 And He looked up and saw the rich putting their gifts into the treasury, 2 and He saw also a certain poor widow putting in two mites. 3 So He said, “Truly I say to you that this poor widow has put in more than all; 4 for all these out of their abundance have put in offerings for God, but she out of her poverty put in all the livelihood that she had.” Luke 21:1-4
The Widow’s Mite is a great lesson. It’s not the gift but the value of the gift that matters. Jesus wants all of you. Not the extra that is easy to give Him. He wants what matters, the valuable parts, ALL of them. He doesn’t want to just be on your mind sometimes, He wants you “consumed” by Him🔥. No part of the “old” you living deep inside of yourself. You say “how can I be totally consumed by God when I have to live and function in this life?” Its a daily walk. It’s a daily sacrifice of making the right decisions. The discussion to be like Him. Each time, every time, everywhere. At home, at work, at town and even when no one is watching. He is. It’s the value of the gift, not the gift. We make choices everyday and the choice of giving everything to the Lord, all of you, that’s the value. It cost everything to walk in His kingdom but you can’t afford not to.
Give it all and see what God will do!
“Father, I ask that you show us exactly what areas we have held back from you. Help us to lay it all down. Help us to give ourselves completely to you. Nothing held back, no reserves. Complete surrender to you. In Jesus name. Amen!”
