awaiting the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ,
King James Bible
Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;
Titus 2:13
I wanted to show this passage from the vantage of four different translations. (Titus 2:13). It shows the different approach that translators took when translating from Greek to English.🤔 The difference in the translations comes in their approach to the Greek word “doxa”. They correctly translate it to mean “glory” or “glorious”, but the discrepancy comes when one translation uses it (doxa) as a noun and another uses it as an adjective. The problem is, (if there is one) either approach is equally truthful but reveal distinctly different truths. So… no matter how you look at this passage it is still truthful. One translation is speaking of the “glorious appearing of the Lord Jesus Christ, where as the other is speaking of His “coming glory”. You may say, “What’s the difference?”🤔 Well one is referencing His glorious appearing the other the appearing of His glory. While I believe His appearing will be glorious, I also believe in a coming cloud of His glory. My eschatology incudes the concept that “For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD as the waters cover the sea.” Hab. 2:14. The Church will see the Glory of God fill the house. His smoke will once again fill the temple! (2 Chron. 7:1) We have seen His presence but There is something coming that will transcend His presence… the house will be filled with His Glory! The “kabowd” of God. The “shekinah” is coming! He will reacquaint His bride with His Glory and she will be glorious! (Eph. 5:27). We will be transformed from “glory to glory.” (2 Cor. 3:18). It necessitates that one must experience glory to be transformed from said glory to other glory.🧐
“ Holy Father, send your Glory! Cause your Glory to fill the earth as the waters cover the sea! Transform us in your Glory and allow us to acclimate to the same Glory that you abide in! Hallelujah! En el nombre Jesus! Amen!” Pastor Rusty
