Jehovajireh

  • Pastor Rusty - June 4th, 2024

“And Abraham called the name of that place Jehovahjireh: as it is said to this day, In the mount of the LORD it shall be seen.” Gen. 22:14

Jehovajireh; has been translated to mean, “The Lord provides.” This must be implied translation because it appears to translate “The Lord sees”. We treat “Jehovajireh” as one of the names of God. It is clear that Abraham declared the place to be “Jehovajireh”. As he said, “In the Mount of the LORD it shall be seen.” A few days ago, we were standing on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem (Mount Mariah). For a thousand years the first and second temple stood on this mount. Tens of thousands of sacrifices took place on this location. The Holy place and the Holiest of Holies stood on this mount. Jews and Muslims alike treat it as a Holy site. But, a thousand years before the Temple of Solomon was built, Abraham declared it to be the place of the LORD’s provision as he declared, “My son, God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering.” (Gen. 22:8). Two thousand years after this prophetic declaration, God himself did provide a lamb for sacrifice once and for all. After Jesus’s crucifixion the “daily sacrifice” was removed. To this day it has never been restored. I did not take in at the time that I stood upon this mount that this was named “Jehovajireh”. But I am blessed to be living in the place of the LORD’s provision. In this season I’ve been hearing for a year that the LORD will provide. I release this to you as well… that the LORD will provide!

“Father, I pray that you will fill the baskets… that the sum of the withdrawal is greater than the deposit! I declare “loaves and fishes” over your people. That the remnant outweighs the some of the deposit. In Jesus name… Amen!!”

“Therefore they gathered them together, and filled twelve baskets with the fragments of the five barley loaves, which remained over and above unto them that had eaten.” John 6:13
