“And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gapbefore me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none.” Eze. 22:30
The Old Testament literally declares there are two men God sought after. One was a man after His own heart. (1 Sam.13:14) The second was a man to stand in the gap and build a hedge. God is looking for intercessors.🤔 Job complained, “For he is not a man, as I am, that I should answer him, and we should come together in judgment. Neither is there any daysman betwixt us, that might lay his hand upon us both.” Job 9:32-32. Job needed someone who could lay his hand him and God at the same time. This mediation is what Christ does. He lays his hand on humanity and God simultaneously and bridges the gap between us. Intercessory prayer is the act of bridging the gap between the need and the supply. It is the act of laying hold of God on behalf others. It is a ministry near and dear to the heart of God. Like a mother willing to pray up into the night for sick child, give us a heart of compassion.
“Holy Father, make us true intercessors. Show us how to stand in the gap and build up the hedge. In Jesus name… Amen! Pastor Rusty
