Ancient Paths

- Pastor Rusty - Oct. 18, 2024

“This is what the LORD says: “Stand at the crossroads and look. Ask for the ancient paths: ‘Where is the good way?’ Then walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls. But they said, ‘We will not walk in it!’’ Jer. 6:14

I heard the Holy Spirit say, “Seek out the ancient paths,” in an early prayer meeting on Monday. I’m not sure what He was referencing but I believe it has to do with transitioning. People tend to have more trouble with a fork in the road than they do with a narrow path. It is when we are presented with choices that we struggle. Especially when those choices are somewhat similar. When it comes to adopting God philosophy we tend to take the path of least resistance. We pursue what is appealing to nature but it doesn’t have the smell of the ancient path. David said, “He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.” Psa. 23:3. Seek out the”old” paths and walk in it.

“Father, show us the good way. Make straight the paths before our feet. Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil for thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever… Amen!” Pastor Rusty
